Biking Safety Tips

  • Ensure your bike seat is properly adjusted to fit you.
  • Wear the helmet provided at all times when riding the bike.
  • Use hand signals before making turns or changing lanes to warn traffic around you.
  • Be as visible as possible to others; if you are biking at night, wear reflective clothing. Reflective gear is available for a small fee upon request.
  • Ride in the same direction as traffic so you are more visible to drivers entering roads or changing lanes.

Watercraft Safety Tips

  • Follow our video instructions to ensure your paddle board or kayak is inflated correctly.
  • Wear the life jacket provided at all times and ensure to carry the emergency boat kit when kayaking.

Terms & Conditions

1. Use and care of Equipment
  • The Client acknowledges and agrees that they have inspected the Equipment, and that the Equipment is in good condition and suitable for the intended use.
  • The Client commits to wearing a helmet at all times while riding the bicycle.
  • The Client will not change or modify the Equipment without Sardis Outdoor Rentals' approval. If the Client changes or modifies the Equipment without Sardis Outdoor Rentals' agreement, such changes or modifications will be considered damage and will incur additional fees.
2. Rental Rules
  • The Equipment cannot be used by any person other than the Client.
  • The Equipment cannot be operated or used in violation of law or to commit a violation of law.
  • The Client must not operate, use, maintain or store the Equipment in a manner likely to cause damage to the Equipment.
3. Safety
  • The Client understands that operating the Equipment may result in severe injury, including but not limited to spinal or head injury.
  • The Client understands how to operate the rental bicycle’s gears and brakes and adjust the seat and quick releases.
4. Competence and Abilities
  • Bike rentals require the ability to ride a bike; paddle board and kayak rentals require the ability to swim.
  • The Client warrants that they are competent to use the Equipment, will use the Equipment in the manner it was designed to be used, and will comply with all laws and obligations in relation to the use and control of the Equipment.
5. Damages

In the case of damage to the Equipment (excluding reasonable wear and tear), however caused, the Client will be responsible for and will pay Sardis Outdoor Rentals for the full cost of all repairs, including the cost of replacing any damaged parts and any labour to restore the Equipment to the condition it was in at the commencement of the Hire Period. For the avoidance of doubt, Sardis Outdoor Rentals has the sole right to reasonably determine: (a) whether the Equipment has been damaged during the Hire Period; (b) whether such damage is beyond reasonable wear and tear; (c) the extent of such damage; and (d) the full cost of the repairs required.

6. Loss of Equipment

In the case of loss of the Equipment, however caused, the Client will be responsible for and will pay Sardis Outdoor Rentals for the full cost of replacing the lost Equipment.

7. Lost Revenue

In addition to the cost of repair, the Client will be responsible for any loss of revenue suffered by Sardis Outdoor Rentals due to the unavailability of the Equipment for hire due to damage or loss. The costs for lost revenue will not exceed the equivalent of 7 days hire of the Equipment at the prevailing hire rates.

Payment & Fees

  • The Client must be over the age of 18 in order to book a rental.
  • Payment can be made at the time of booking via credit card, or at the time of pick-up in cash.
  • If the rental equipment becomes unavailable for the Hire Period due to circumstances beyond Sardis Outdoor Rentals' control (such as theft, fire, earthquake, or damage from an earlier hire contract), Sardis Outdoor Rentals will use its best efforts to offer the Client a suitable alternative. If Sardis Outdoor Rentals is unable to offer a suitable alternative, the Client will be entitled to a full refund of any monies paid, minus any costs Sardis Outdoor Rentals has incurred related to this booking.
  • No refunds will be made for early returns, late pickups, no-shows or change of mind following the pick-up time.
  • Late (next-day) returns will incur an additional fee of $50/day.
  • The Client understands that upon return of the rented bicycle, Sardis Outdoor Rentals will inspect it for damage, and reserves the right to levee additional fee(s) to cover damages. These fees are listed in the liability waiver signed by the Client.
